Spurs in talks with intermediaries about free centre-back transfer

0

Tottenham Hotspur are one of several Premier League clubs in talks over a deal for an experienced German international, who is becoming one of the hottest properties in Europe due to his contract situation.

Tottenham need a central defender

Tottenham are light in central defence, with only three full-time centre-backs currently at Ange Postecoglou‘s disposal.

It has been widely reported that the Lilywhites are on the lookout for reinforcements at the back and one man who is said to be on their radar is Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah.

The experienced defender’s current deal at Leverkusen runs out at the end of the current season, and a big update has now emerged about his future.

Tottenham in talks with Jonathan Tah

TBR Football have now reported that Spurs, Man Utd and Chelsea have all spoken to intermediaries about a potential deal to sign Tah.

All three clubs are allegedly looking to sign the 28-year-old on a free transfer next summer, while Aston Villa and Newcastle are also keeping tabs on him.

Additionally, the outlet claims that Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Inter Milan have also expressed interest in the Leverkusen star’s services.

Tah’s transfer intention

TBR Football say that Tah is also wanted by Saudi Pro League clubs, but the defender wants to continue playing in Europe at the moment.

The defender had previously declared that he will not be signing a new deal at the Bay Arena, admitting that he wants a new challenge.

The German international said back in September (via Fabrizio Romano): “I’m not gonna sign a new deal at Bayer Leverkusen. My decision is made. I will give my best until the end here and then we will see about my future club. But my decision is to go and try a different experience.”
