What’s been said about Micky van de Ven’s injury?

After just 14 minutes of the Carabao Cup tie against Manchester City, Micky van de Ven was forced off the field and appeared to be clutching his hamstring.

Immediately after the game, Ange Postecoglou told Football.London: “Micky felt something in his hamstring. I haven’t got the full update on him but he definitely felt something and we’ll see how he is.”

The rather reputable injury expert, Physio Scout, had suggested that if van de Ven had merely felt a tightness, he may only be out for a week. If he had suffered more of a strain, it could leave the Dutchman on the sidelines for anywhere between four to six weeks.

In his latest press conference, Postecoglou said the injury was “not a bad one like last time that kept [van de Ven] out for quite a while.” The defender’s previous hamstring injury kept him out for two months.

What games will Micky van de Ven miss?

We are working on the assumption that van de Ven will be out of action for about four weeks, with a return after the November international break hopefully on the agenda. Here are the games he’ll miss as a result.

In this scenario, van de Ven would have the international break to recover and rehabilitate, and be back on the pitch for the Premier League game against Manchester City on November 23.

The worst-case scenario

If van de Ven’s injury does keep him out longer, let’s say for the six weeks cited as the top-end figure for this kind of issue, he will miss the following games, too:
