Pape Matar Sarr doubled Spurs’ lead with a stunning long-range effort from a clever corner routine, and the Lilywhites appeared to be coasting at that point.
City got a goal back through Matheus Nunes just before the interval, and in the second half, Guardiola’s men threatened to turn the game on its head, but Spurs held strong and confirmed their place in the draw for the Carabao Cup quarter-finals. But what about the Carabao Cup draw for Tottenham?
Who will Spurs play next in the Carabao Cup?
The draw for the next round took place shortly after the final whistle, with an all-Premier League quarter-final line-up for the first time in 14 years.
Tottenham were joined in the draw by Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Brentford, and Southampton.
