Tottenham’s injury list

Tottenham have been struggling with injuries of late, particularly in forward areas. In the 3-2 loss to Brighton, Ange Postecoglou was without Heung-min Son, Richarlison, and Wilson Odobert.

With a lack of depth on the left side of attack – a position all three of those injured stars can occupy – the Spurs boss was instead forced to turn to Timo Werner.

It is fair to say that Werner is not enjoying his most productive or confident season in front of goal. The German international was guilty of missing big chances against both Man United and the Seagulls.

Some Tottenham fans have even been calling for 17-year-old academy graduate, Mikey Moore, to start over the on-loan RB Leipzig forward. So far, Postecoglou has not heeded these calls in the Premier League.

Heung-min Son and Richarlison could return

Despite mixed reports over the last few days, Postecoglou now reveals that both Son and Richarlison are in contention to be a part of the matchday squad on Saturday.

The Spurs boss also confirmed that Lucas Bergvall returned from international duty with a niggle, but is fighting to be fit in time for the West Ham clash.

Not a word was said about Brennan Johnson, despite the winger coming off at half-time in his last game for Wales. In fact, Postecoglou stated that all the internationals have returned to Hotspur Way in decent condition – although there are still a couple left to check on.

Who will start for Spurs vs West Ham?

Heung-min Son has had two weeks of international break to work on his fitness at Hotspur Way and we expect him to pass a late fitness test. It seems likely the South Korean will start on the left for Spurs.

Hopefully, Richarlison will be able to make the bench and offer some support and competition to Dominic Solanke, which has been severely lacking so far this season. It’s a big campaign for the Brazilian to either force his way into the Tottenham line-up or at least earn a big transfer away. The problem is, he just can’t stay fit at the moment.
