Tottenham star admits he is putting Cristiano Ronaldo’s advice into practice

Cristiano Ronaldo gave Dejan Kulusevski an interesting piece of advice during their time together at Juventus, but the Spurs star is only now starting to truly understand it.

Breakthrough season for Kulusevski?

Kulusevski’s talent was never really in any doubt right from his teen years but over the years, the attacker has been a frustrating player to watch, failing to make the most of the gifts he possesses.

However, it seems like the 24-year-old is now starting to fulfil his potential, aided in a big way by the fact that he has seemingly found his best position.

Kulusevski has arguably been Tottenham’s best player this season and Spurs fans will hope that he continues going from strength to strength in the number eight role.

Ronaldo’s advice

Kulusevski had the honour of sharing a dressing room with Ronaldo when he was a youngster at Juventus.

The Swede has now admitted that the legendary footballer gave him a piece of advice which he is only now starting to understand.

The Tottenham man told Fotbollskanalen: “I’m getting to know my body. When I was younger, I didn’t understand when [Cristiano] Ronaldo told me: ‘You will get to know your body’.

“Because I didn’t know my body then. But now I’m starting to understand my strengths and weaknesses, and how I can improve. So I feel like everything is getting easier.”

Drive to improve

While talent is obviously a prerequisite to becoming one of the best in the world, what sets world-class footballers apart is their determination to keep improving.

That drive and willingness to work hard is what made Ronaldo special and that is certainly a trait that Kulusevski has in abundance.
