Tottenham scouts spotted in Portugal to watch league match last weekend
Scouts from Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly in attendance at the Estadio do Dragao this Sunday to watch Porto in action.
Tottenham’s scouts busy ahead of January
Although Spurs make heavy use of data analysis to shortlist their transfer targets, the club do plenty of scouting before arriving on their final list.
This was confirmed by Johan Lange in the recently held fan forum, with Tottenham’s sporting director making it clear that no player is signed without extensive scouting and background research on their personalities.
It looks like Spurs’ network of scouts have begun work on assessing various targets ahead of the January window.
Spotted in Portugal
Monday’s edition of O Jogo (via Sport Witness) have now revealed that representatives from the North London club were in attendance at Estadio do Dragao for Porto’s 4-0 win over Arouca on Sunday.
The report claims that the Lilywhites were not alone, with officials from Newcastle United, Leicester City, VfL Wolfsburg, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Betis and Granada also present in the stadium.
However, the outlet does not provide any information on who these clubs were watching.
Spurs reignite interest in summer target?
One player Tottenham might have been assessing is Porto winger Francisco Conceicao, who was mooted as a target for the North London club in the summer.
It was revealed by HITC back in July that Spurs were fans of the wide man and were one of many clubs keeping an eye on his situation.
The publication claimed that the Portugal international had a release clause of £38m in his contract.
