James Maddison pokes fun at Spurs star after his Old Trafford heroics
One Tottenham man appears to be the but of many jokes among his teammates after his heroics at Old Trafford, and James Maddison has called him out on social media.
A force of nature
The player in question is Micky van de Ven, whose reputation continues to blossom with each game that he plays.
The centre-back possesses plenty of quality on the ball and reads the game well, but what sets him apart is his electric pace.
That was in evidence again on Sunday as Van de Ven ran through almost the entirety of the United team before laying the ball on a plate for Brennan Johnson to tap home.

Van de Ven’s Tottenham teammates are in awe of what he did, with many bantering him on social media for the run he went on.
When the Dutchman took to Instagram to express his delight at the win, the likes of James Maddison and Pedro Porro responded with funny comments.
Maddison wrote: “Slow B*****d” while Porro responded: “Do you want more field to run”.
The jokes did not end there as the England international also shared a video on his Instagram stories of Van de Ven watching a video on his phone, and he accused the centre-back of watching his assist on repeat.
Tottenham team spirit is no accident
It is evident based on the body language of the Spurs squad, the way they back each other publicly, and their social media banter that there is a great camaraderie among the players.
That has certainly not happened by accident, with Postecoglou prioritising creating a family environment at the club.
Johan Lange and the Spurs head coach both made it clear in the recently held fan forum that they spend a lot of time looking into players’ personalities and their family backgrounds before deciding to sign them.
