Brazil legends hints at shock transfer for Tottenham’s Richarlison
Former Brazil international Edmundo suggests that Tottenham striker Richarlison is being lined up by his former club.
Richarlison’s struggles continue
Richarlison has struggled to remain fit since the end of last year, with the striker constantly breaking down with different types of injuries.
There is no public information on his latest injury nor his expected return date, with Ange Postecoglou just bluntly stating last week that the 27-year-old is ‘a fair way off’ from returning to action (Football.London).
Time is running out for the Brazilian to salvage his Tottenham career and if he does not make much of an impact before January, the North London club might seriously consider replacing him.
Move back to Brazil on the cards?
Selecao legend Edmundo has now suggested that the Tottenham striker may make a shock move back to his home country to join Vasco da Gama.
The 53-year-old, who came through Vasco’s academy and had four different spells at the club, has named Richarlison as his ‘dream signing’ for his beloved team.
Edmundo told CNN Brasil about the club’s plans: “Now, the idea is to keep all the main players and hire two or three heavyweight players. One for the defence, one for the midfield and two for the attack. Heavyweight like Richarlison. I’m dreaming and I can guarantee that 2025 will be different.”
The move would come as a shock
While there is a very real possibility that Richarlison’s time at Tottenham might end sooner rather than later, it would certainly come as a major shock if the striker moves back to Brazilian football.
The forward is entering his peak years as a footballer and if he can steer clear of injuries, one would expect him to continue playing at the highest level in Europe.
That would give the Spurs star the best chance of returning back to the Selecao set-up.
