Serie A club set price tag for full-back as Tottenham circle

Lecce are reportedly putting a sizeable price tag on Patrick Dorgu as Tottenham and other Premier League clubs continue to circle over the left-back.

While Ange Postecoglou has two players for almost every position across the squad, the one player for whom he lacks a natural backup is Destiny Udogie.

The Australian seemingly views Ben Davies as a better fit for centre-back than the inverted left-back role and he has thus used Djed Spence as Udogie’s understudy so far this season, with the former Middlesbrough man impressing despite playing out of position.

That is an area that Postecoglou might want to address in January and one player who is reportedly on Tottenham’s radar is Dorgu, with the Lilywhites even alleged to have failed with a late offer for the 19-year-old in the summer window (Gazzetta dello Sport).

Lecce name asking price

TuttoJuve have now offered an update on Dorgu’s future, stating that Chelsea are keen on securing the left-back, having been impressed by his development.

The report adds that the Serie A club are working to extend the teenager’s contract in order to keep him off the clutches of Premier League sides.

It is revealed that Lecce have now slapped a €30m (£25m) price tag on the Denmark international, who is also being watched by Juventus.

Tottenham to repeat Udogie trick?

Tottenham last turned to the Serie A to address their issues at left-back last year, securing Udogie from Udinese, and the 21-year-old has proven a massive hit in North London.

They might now be tempted to repeat the trick by looking towards the Italian market again to address the same position, with Dorgu emerging as one of the best in his position in the league.

The youngster has quite similar attributes to Udogie, being strong, explosive and adept at one-on-one situations.
