Jamie O’Hara names and shames four Spurs stars who need to get better
Jamie O’Hara has not held back on some of the Tottenham stars following the North London derby defeat, blasting the likes of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson for their performances.
Spurs lost their third home NLD in a row
Ange Postecoglou and Spurs badly needed a result on Sunday to get the fans back on side, and to get some momentum into their season but they faced another loss, with Gabriel Magalhaes’ 64th-minute header proving the difference between the sides.
The game followed a familiar pattern to what we have come to expect from Tottenham over the calendar year, with the home side having plenty of the ball but struggling to maximise their opportunities yet again.
Just four games into the campaign, the Lilywhites already have a lot of catching up to do if they want to finish in the top four or compete with the best sides in the division.
O’Hara unleashes on four Tottenham stars
O’Hara still backed Tottenham to finish in the Champions League places but admitted that several experienced players need to quickly turn around their form for his former side to salvage their season.
The pundit told Grosvenor Sport: “I’ll always back Spurs to finish in the top-four, but it doesn’t look good at the moment. They’ve only got four points from four games.
“It’s been a terrible start to the season, losing to Newcastle and Arsenal who are two teams that’ll both be fighting against Spurs for a top-four spot. It’s not looking good.
“Solanke needs to pull his finger out and start scoring some goals. He needs to give more to the side than just jogging around and holding the ball up.
“Johnson needs to actually look for the ball and want it. Kulusevski has been rubbish since we signed him and Son looks past it. As for Romero, everyone goes on about him being a World Cup winner, but his defending is woeful and he costs the team a goal almost every week.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I do not think we should overreact just yet. While analysing Sunday’s performance, it is important to not lose sight of the fact that Arsenal are among the best teams in Europe and undoubtedly the best defensively organised team in the Premier League.
