Report: Nike is planning to raise the price of Tottenham kits even further

0

Football fans already give everything to their clubs, from their emotional well-being, to endless time, and plenty of money, too. Now, Nike has plans that are going to demand even more from the supporters.

Price hike incoming for Nike

Nike has been collaborating with Spurs since 2017, creating some wonderful kits for the North London club. Fans are delighted with this season’s assortment, but they do cost a pretty penny.

As it stands, the shirt alone costs £85 for the men’s stadium version, while the elite version sets you back £125. Shorts will cost £45, and socks are another £18, meaning a full kit costs at least £148, and up to £188 as per the Spurs official shop.

Prices may differ from outlet to outlet, and things are a little cheaper in the US. For now, at least.

Those prices are not enough, it seems, though, as Footy Headlines report Nike plans to further increase the costs of their sportswear and football kits for next season.

Apparently, the sports manufacturer is planning a “notable price hike” for the 2025/26 season that will see replica (stadium) shirts rising from $95 to $105 (£73 rising to £80) and the elite versions will rise from $170 to $175 (£130 rising to £134).

This is described as the “biggest price jump” on replica kits in years and it will be Nike’s first increase since 2023.

A dampener on the new design

Spurs fans were celebrating over the weekend after hearing their away kit for next season will be a black and grey colourway, with leaked details also coming from Footy Headlines on that front.

However, the new pricing changes will surely give supporters cause for concern and spoil the fun of the new design somewhat.

Spurs Web Opinion

The prices for football kits are already absolutely ludicrous, so to raise them again is just disgusting, to be honest. There is no way fans should be shelling out close to, or more than £100 to show their support for their team.
