Postecoglou fires warning to Reguilon if he does not seal Turkey or Saudi move
Ange Postecoglou has suggested that Sergio Reguilon might not be integrated back into the Tottenham first-team squad if he does not seal a move to Turkey or Saudi Arabia.
Sergio Reguilon failed to find a deadline day move
It was well-documented that Spurs were racing against time to offload both Reguilon and Giovani Lo Celso in the final hours leading up to Friday’s transfer deadline.
They did succeed in Lo Celso’s case, with the Argentine completing a return to Real Betis in the nick of time.
However, Reguilon was unable to find a new club before the 11 pm deadline, with the left-back still continuing to train with the first-team at Hotspur Way.
Reguilon may not be integrated back into the squad
With the transfer market still open for Turkish and Saudi clubs, the 27-year-old hopes to seal an exit from Spurs over the coming days.
Postecoglou has now hinted that if the Spain international fails to seal a move way, he could be frozen out of the senior squad at Tottenham.
When asked on Friday evening if Lo Celso and Reguilon will be integrated back into the squad if they do not find new clubs, the Australian told The Standard: “No, they don’t have to get integrated back into the squad. It’s their decision.
“It’s pretty clear where they sit in terms of where we are as a squad and where we are as a team, but, you know, I’ve never been one to force people out.
“They’ve got decisions about their own careers and what they want to do, and if they’re still here, they’re still here. We’ll work around that scenario, but it certainly won’t affect the way we work in the first team.”

Reguilon would certainly not want to rot on the bench for the next six months and his entourage would likely be pushing for a late move to Turkey or the Middle East.
It does seem as if a few Turkish clubs want the left-back, which might be why he remained at Tottenham past yesterday’s transfer deadline.
