Video: Wilson Odobert turns Spurs summer signing to score in training
It turns out that Wilson Odobert is already impressing in Tottenham training, with the club sharing a video of the newcomer producing some moments of quality.
Odobert, who arrived from Burnley last week, could not be part of the club’s matchday squad against Leicester City as he was waiting for his work permit to be renewed (The Standard).
The 19-year-old will be hoping to make his Tottenham debut against Everton this Saturday and it seems like he is doing all he can to catch the eye of Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff in training.
Spurs currently have the likes of Heung-min Son, Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, Timo Werner and even Mikey Moore for Odobert to compete with on the wings.
Odobert turns Archie Gray to score
Spurs posted a short video of Odobert’s highlights from training, which included a couple of excellent finishes across the goalkeeper.
The one at the end, in particular, stood out, with the Frenchman making a yard for himself by wrong-footing Archie Gray before unleashing a fierce strike into the far corner, giving the goalkeeper no chance.
Spurs Web Opinion
Postecoglou will be pleased that he finally has a winger who is aggressive and constantly looking to take his man on in one-v-one situations.
That is something we missed on Monday, with Son and Johnson not at their best while Werner also struggled to have an impact when he came on.
