8-year-old girl shot in finger inside Auburn Gresham home

Police continue to investigate after a girl, 8, was shot in the finger Sunday afternoon in an Auburn Gresham home on the South Side.

The girl was inside a home in the 1400 block of West 83rd Street around 1:55 p.m. when she was shot in the index finger, Chicago police said.

She was taken to the Advocate Christ Medical Center where she was in good condition, police said.

No one was in custody and Area 2 detectives are investigating.
