Three keys to Bears' victory against Cowboys

0

Three keys to the Bears’ 31-14 victory Sunday against the Cowboys:

Near-perfect Caleb

Quarterback Caleb Williams went 19-for-28 for 298 yards and four touchdowns. His 142.6 passer rating was the fourth-best in franchise history. Plus, for the first time in his NFL career, Williams wasn’t sacked.

A second-half shutout

A Bears defense that gave up 52 points a week ago was better, holding the Cowboys to a touchdown and two field goals and shutting them out in the second half. The Cowboys’ four second-half drives ended in a punt and three interceptions — two by linebacker Tremaine Edmunds and one by safety Kevin Byard.

A grueling march

The Bears’ final touchdown capped a 19-play scoring drive that included 11 consecutive runs at one point. The 19 plays were the most for a Bears touchdown drive since at least 2001.

Stevenson had a rough first two games before coming back strong in Jaylon Johnson’s absence Sunday.
Safety Jaquan Brisker said the defense can’t talk about being one of the NFL’s best and then give up 50-plus points.
Here’s how the Bears beat the Cowboys 31-14.
