Bears to miss Bengals star QB Joe Burrow as toe injury sidelines him 3 months
The Bears will face a long list of good quarterbacks this season — they just played the Lions’ Jared Goff, and up next is the Cowboys' Dak Prescott — but they'll miss perennial MVP contender Joe Burrow when they visit the Bengals in Week 9.
Burrow exited the Bengals' 31-27 win over the Jaguars on Sunday with turf toe, which might require surgery, and is expected to be out three months. That would rule him out of the Bears' Week 9 game at Cincinnati on Nov. 2. The Bengals turned to backup Jake Browning, who threw three interceptions and posted a 69.9 passer rating.
After the Bears play the Cowboys and Prescott at Soldier Field on Sunday, they would face eight Pro Bowl quarterbacks the rest of the season, barring injuries or benchings: the Raiders' Geno Smith, the Commanders' Jayden Daniels, the Ravens' Lamar Jackson, the Giants' Russell Wilson, the Steelers' Aaron Rodgers, the Eagles' Jalen Hurts, the 49ers' Brock Purdy and another game against Goff.
Burrow has a 101 passer rating over six seasons and is the NFL's career leader in completion percentage at 68.5.
