Cubs vs. White Sox: The rivalry poll results are in

0

North or South? Wrigley or Rate?

Where have Cubs-White Sox “Crosstown” games been more fun to attend through the years?

That was topic No. 1 in this week’s “Polling Place,” your home for Sun-Times sports polls on the social platform X.

“Wrigley is fun — unlike the team, usually,” @00723maui commented.

“The Rate if there’s a good fight in the bleachers,” @JBIRD1268 offered.

With a Cubs-Sox series unfolding this weekend, we asked if fans like it best when the Cubs are good and the Sox are bad, or vice versa? Or is it those all-too-rare years when both teams are good?

“I attend both, have had season tickets to both,” @chicagochris50 wrote. “I love baseball, Chicago and having two teams, two different experiences.”

Almost agreeing was @DanGarner24, who wrote, “If the Sox ever start trying again, then I would vote for ‘both good.’ ”

Last, we asked about your Cubs and/or Sox gear. Got a lot of it hanging in your closet or nah?

On to the polls:

Poll No. 1: Over the years, where have Cubs vs. White Sox games been more fun to attend?

Upshot: Wait a minute, a good fight in the Rate bleachers? How is that any better or worse than a “good” fight in the Wrigley bleachers? More to the point: If you really can’t go to a game without taking a swing at a stranger, please be a responsible imbecile and just stay home.

Poll No. 2: What’s your preferred Chicago baseball setting?

Upshot: An impressive showing for “C,” wouldn’t you say? But also, further proof this so-called rivalry has lost its luster.

Poll No. 3: How many articles of Cubs and/or Sox clothing, hats included, do you own?

Upshot: Hang on a sec here, do our Bill Nahorodny wristbands and Mick Kelleher socks count as two items or four?
