Cops releases photos of man sought for vandalizing Little Village immigration facilities
Chicago police have released photos of a man who they say spray-painted swastikas and the words, “ICE RULES,” on several immigration organization buildings in Little Village last week.
Two of the incidents happened between midnight and 3 a.m. July 19 in the 2700 block of West Cermak Road and the 2500 block of South Central Park Avenue. The third building, in the 2700 block of West Cermak Road, was painted between midnight and 3 a.m. July 20, police said.
The man is described by police as white with a light complexion, between 25 and 35, about 5 foot 9 and weighing about 165 to 180 pounds.
He was pictured on surveillance footage with short black hair with long sideburns. He was wearing a black T-shirt with four square logos on the front, blue jeans and black gym shoes with white soles, police said.
One of the buildings vandalized was the office of Latinos Progresando, 2724 W. Cermak Road, which provides immigration legal assistance, education programs and other services, according to a previous statement by the organization.
“Let’s be clear about one thing — Latinos Progresando will not back away from our values or be deterred from our work because of this heinous criminal act. We are not going anywhere,” the organization said.
