Re: An Analogy
Le ModThe second paragraph is true of loads of managers. And again to play devils advocate there’s no guarantee that being less coached, results in better results.
RE Leonard, I think he’s actually one of the worst for passing for passing sake (Pointless 5 yard bounce passes) some of rollickings he gets are just as likely for not playing forwards and not playing with fewer touches.
I agree that we need to take more risk but I think it’s quite clear why we try to manage space, territory and possession, because we’re largely unathletic and vulnerable.
See the last 4 goals we’ve conceded, nearly all transition goals with us committing men forward and losing the ball, is it any wonder he doesn’t want to potentially expose that more, he’s in a very difficult position, needing to take more risk to create more chances whilst knowing the midfield and defence lacks the power and legs to deal with what happens when it gets turned over.
Which brings us back to the notion that maybe the recruitment (whoever is responsible) hasn't given the manager the tools to do the job. Despite us, from what we are told, likely having spent close to the max as we are allowed under the rules.
