Employee-owned Harrell’s recently named Adam Wright of the Turf Florida team as its 2024 Sales Professional of the Year.

The criteria to receive the award come from 15 separately evaluated categories, including sales performance, application of Harrell’s Core Values (serve, honor and glorify God, take care of people and grow its financial strength) and demonstration of Harrell’s Four Pillars (humility, gratitude, intentionality and accountability). On Dec. 10, 2024, at Harrell’s National Sales Meeting, president and CEO Jack Harrell III announced Adam Wright of Florida as Harrell’s 2024 Salesperson of the Year.

Adam Wright joined Harrell’s Turf Florida team 13 years ago, and according to the company, has worked with others in mind and built his credibility as a dependable leader and partner since day one. Harrell’s added that Wright’s customers look to him for his wealth of knowledge in the turf space and see that he 100-percent backs all the products and recommendations that he makes, giving his customers peace of mind knowing they are getting what they need. Adam Ellison, sales director of Turf Florida, nominated Wright for the award.

“Adam exemplifies Harrell’s core values and demonstrates all our Four Pillars as an exceptional employee-owner. He builds up our team, he coaches from the field and he leads by example. Adam’s insatiable desire to win is contagious, and his leadership skills make our entire team better. His growth this year is impressive and well-deserved. Not to mention, each year he continues to add customers and treats every interaction with the same enthusiasm. He is a phenomenal colleague, an exceptional mentor and a great friend,” said Ellison.

Harrell’s also extended congratulations to nine additional nominees for the Salesperson of the Year award:

  • Andrew Cain – Turf West
  • Chad Lamantia – Turf Mid-Atlantic
  • Jason Funderburg – Turf Midwest
  • Kendall Wiley – Turf South Central
  • Mark Clikas – Hort South
  • Mark Stovall – Turf Coastal Plains
  • Matt Schrader – Turf Southeast
  • Solomon Aydani – Hort North
  • Tom Hoffer – Turf Northeast

In addition to Salesperson of the Year, Harrell’s recognizes one new salesperson as the Rookie of the Year and announces this annually. To be eligible for Rookie of the Year, Harrell’s territory managers must be employed for less than two years and demonstrate performance above and beyond expectations. The Rookie of the Year award was presented to Tyler Johanson this year.

Johanson started at Harrell’s in August of 2023. According to the company, since joining the team, he has adapted to his role and become a profound member of the North Florida and now Southeast Georgia superintendent network, providing services and technical expertise to his growing customer base. Ellison also nominated Johanson for this award.

“His selflessness is contagious as he encourages all of us to put others first. He is available for ride-alongs and weekly calls and provides fresh advice for new reps who joined shortly after him in 2023. His professionalism coupled with his humility and grace put him in a position to serve his customers and proudly support Harrell’s and all our employee-owners,” said Ellison.

Harrell’s also extended congratulations to the five additional nominees for Rookie of the Year:

  • Drew Goehler – Turf Mid-Atlantic
  • Jeremy Wade – Turf Southeast
  • Juan Loarca – Hort West
  • Nick Wilson – Turf Coastal Plains
  • Tom Lopez – Turf Northeast
