Japan, EU announce sweeping defence and security pact

A sweeping new security and defence partnership pact between Japan and the European Union was unveiled on Friday in Tokyo. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell described it as "the first agreement of this nature" between the EU and an Asia-Pacific country.
