France’s new govt relies on far-right support as it faces no-confidence vote

0
France’s new government, led by conservative Prime Minister Michel Barnier, will have to lean on the support of the far right as it faces a no-confidence vote in parliament on Tuesday. The motion was called by left-wing alliance New Popular Front, which won the most votes in the June-July parliamentary elections but did not gain an outright majority, and was then sidelined by President Emmanuel Macron when he chose his new prime minister.
