Boro seal Smith signing
Renny has featured for Boro since the start of Pre-Season and signs on for the new Enterprise National League South season after standing out to the Management team during a trial period.
An energetic and versatile midfielder, Smith started his Youth career with Chelsea, before switching to Arsenal where he featured in the UEFA Youth League during his Scholarship.
Over a decade ago, the English-born Austrian also made appearances for Das Team’s Under 18 and 19 sides.
The midfielder joined Championship Burnley in August 2015 and soon went on a season-long loan to Swedish Superettan side GAIS.
Renny was sold to Italian Serie B side Vicenza the following summer, before spells at Lega Pro Mantova, Südtirol, FC Dordrecht – who he captained – and WSG Tirol.
He made a return to England in September 2023 and signed for National League Oxford City – scoring the opening goal in a 2-0 Boxing Day victory at Dorking Wanderers.
Smith moved to Hemel Hempstead Town at the start of last season, but now calls the Saunders Transport Community Stadium his new home for 2025/26.
Farnborough Manager Spencer Day added: “Renny has really impressed throughout pre-season and comes with bags of experience at many levels, including internationally.
“He will give us strength in the squad and his willingness and desire to be a part of what we are doing was very impressive.”
Smith has been allocated shirt number 16.
