Turner pens new two-year deal
Our very own number one has extended his stay at the Saunders Transport Community Stadium for a further two seasons, having made just over 160 competitive appearances for the Club to date.
‘JT’ has kept 45 clean sheets so far across all four previous campaigns, having made his Farnborough debut away at Truro City in The Southern League Premier South in December 2021.
One of those many clean sheets came in an unforgettable 2-0 victory away at Sutton United in The Emirates FA Cup First Round Proper, back in November 2022.
A true fan favourite for his personality, as well as his reliability between the sticks, we are absolutely delighted Jack has committed his loyalty to us amid interest from around the Non-League pyramid.
Having signed on the dotted line this week, Turner said: “It’s a no brainer really, when the Manager spoke to me about next year and the year after.
“Love the Club, love the place, so happy to sign and keep pushing and keep going.”
Manager Spencer Day explained: “I want it on record; we do a lot for players and it’s rare for players to give back. It is.
“I understand it, people have got bills to pay, got families to feed. He sent a message out, which I only received this week, after the Enfield game. He was very unhappy about what was directed at me and said ‘I want to stay now, I want to get it out there, I want to support Spencer and the Club’, which was really lovely to hear.
“I spoke to him and it was really no decision at all, then he dropped on me that he’d like to do two years! It was pretty much a no brainer. There’s no big increases or anything like that.
“He’s a massive part of the dressing room. He has his moments, like today, but he’s a fantastic keeper. He’s only 32, a fan favourite and it’s brilliant.
“We need to keep really good people at the Club and he and his family are really good people, so I’m absolutely delighted for him and for us.”
