League placement for Women’s teams next season

0

We are delighted to receive confirmation that both our Women's teams will be promoted two divisions, following an incredibly successful debut season for the entire setup.

First Team

The double winning Farnborough FC Women’s First Team will play in the Hampshire County Women’s Football League Division 1 – the highest division at County level – where we will face a number of strong teams that we’re excited to come up against.

Craig Shields’ team faced a number of sides from HCWFL Division 1 last season, defeating US Portsmouth, AFC Varsity and Division 1 Champions Bursledon Ladies on the way to securing the Hampshire FA Women’s Trophy, and know that it will be an exciting test.

Joining us in Division 1 will be Shanklin, Gosport Borough, Winchester City Flyers Reserves and Basingstoke Town who remain in the Division; Andover New Street, Millbrook and AFC Stoneham Ladies Reserves who won promotion from Division 2; City Ladies who join us in jumping up from Division 3; and Rushmoor Community who drop from the Southern Region.

Our First Team have also applied to feature in the Women’s FA Cup for next season, now that we have reached the required League criteria thanks to our jump to Division 1. We will also get the chance to defend our Hampshire FA Women’s Trophy.

B Team

Farnborough FC Women’s B Team, with new Manager Penelope McCarthy, move up to Hampshire County Women’s Football League Division 4.

They will be joined by Aldershot BG, Andover Town, Bursledon Ladies Reserves, Clanfield, Cowplain, Gosport Borough Reserves, Lymington, Paulsgrove, Romsey and Solent.

Our B Team will again feature in the Junior Cup, and will look to go far in the competition yet again.

We’ll have news on retained and new signings for both teams soon as preparations for next season continue.
