2025 Club Provincials Recap

On March 19-23, 2025, 28 men’s teams and 5 women’s teams hit the ice at the Sutherland Curling Club with hopes of representing Saskatchewan at the 2025 Club Nationals on Nov. 18-23 at Winnipeg’s Granite Curling Club.

The woman’s event was full round robin with the top 3 teams advancing to playoffs. After the round robin was complete, Team Frolek was at the top of the pool with a 3-1 record Team Ward was second with a 2-2 record and Team Bibby was third, also with a 2-2 record, but placed third due to LSD. In the playoffs, team Ward and Bibby played off in the semi-final where Team Bibby won 8-2. The final was a rematch of Team Bibby and Team Frolek where Team Bibby lost 7-4 in the round robin. The outcome went the other way for Team Bibby on Sundays final as they defeated Team Frolek 4-3.

Congratulations to skip Patricia Bibby, third Jaime Smith-Windsor, second Melanie Heleta, lead Donna Campbell, and alternate Linda Bjork Prince from the Albert Golf & Curling Centre.


On the mens side, it was a 28 team modified triple knockout with 3 teams qualifying out of the A event, 3 teams qualifying out of the B event, and 2 teams qualifying out of the C-Event.

In the playoffs, Team Obst defeated Team Schmirler 11-2, Team Grindheim defeated Team Vollman 7-6, Team Bibby fell to Team Coutts 7-6, and Team Martin defeated Team McCusker 7-2. The Semi-finals saw Team Grindheim defeat Team Obst 7-3, and Team Martin defeat Team Coutts 7-5. The final was a battle of the home club Teams, both from the Sutherland Curling Club, but it was Team Grindheim who took home the 5-3 win and title of 2025 Curling Club Mens Provincial Champions.

Congratulations to Team Grindheim. Skip Dean Grindheim, third Darren Camm, second Tyler Camm, lead Mark Steckler from the Sutherland Curling Club in Saskatoon.

Both Teams will go on to represent SK at the 2025 Club Nationals on Nov. 18-23 at Winnipeg’s Granite Curling Club.
