2025 Master’s Provincials Recap
On February 27 to March 2, 2025 the 2025 Masters Provincial Championships took place at the Moose Jaw Curling Centre in Moose Jaw, SK.
Men’s Teams:
- Team Bell – Skip: Gord Bell, Third: Rick Schneider, Second: Francis Walsh, Lead: Gord Fritzler (Callie Curling Club)
- Team Humble – Skip: Brian Humble, Third: Terry Hersikorn, Second: Greg Kunz, Lead: Kerry Tarasoff (Sutherland Curling Club)
- Team Fell – Skip: Lloyd Fell, Third: Brent Franko, Second: Clarence Caswell, Lead: Loyd Olsen (Twin Rivers Curling Club, North Battleford)
- Team Vanthuyne – Skip: Gary Vanthuyne, Third: Kurt Vanthuyne, Second: Marvin Dezotell, Lead: Wayne Vanthuyne (Davidson Curling Club)

On the mens side, the format was 2 pools of 5 teams with the top 2 teams from each pool making playoffs. After the round robin, here were the standings:

The men’s playoff saw Team Humble defeat Team Bell 7-5 in the 1v2 game. In the 3v4 game Team Sutherland defeated Team Hritzuk 6-5 and faced Team Bell in the semi-final. Team Bell defeated Team Sutherland in the semi-final 8-7 and once again faced Team Humble again in the championship final. Team Humble secured their undefeated championship in the final by defeating Team Bell 6-3. This is the third consecutive year Team Humble has won this event.
The women’s event was a full round robin with the top 3 teams making playoffs. After the round robin, the standings were as follows:

In the playoffs, Team Inglis had finished in first place and had the bye to the final. Team Streifel faced Team Anderson in the semi-final where team Anderson picked up the 10-6 victory. In the final, Team Anderon defeated Team Inglis 7-5 and earned the right to represent Saskatchewan on the National Stage.
Congratulations to Team Humble and Team Anderson! They will represent Saskatchewan at the 2025 Canadian Masters Curling Championships on March 30 – April 6, 2025 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
