2025 Mixed Provincials Recap

On March 6-9 2025, 10 Mixed teams hit the ice at the Melville Curling Club in hopes of representing Saskatchewan at the 2025 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship later this year.

Meet the Teams:

  1. Ackerman – Skip: Jason Ackerman, Third: Robyn Silvernagle, Second: Sam Wills, Lead: Colleen Ackerman (Highland Curling Club)
  2. Carriere – Skip: Daniel Carriere, Third: Melanie Fauchoux, Second: Ryan Fauchoux, Lead: Jolene Schmidt (Nutana Curling Club)
  3. Craig Straker – Skip: Craig Straker, Third: Shelia Jarocki, Second: Shawn Schick, Lead: Tara Waldbauer (Melville Curling Club)
  4. DeConinck Smith – Skip: Carl deConinck Smith, Third: Grace Loudon, Second: Kalin Deis, Lead: Heidi Fradette (Fox Valley Curling Club)
  5. Desaulniers – Skip: Todd Desaulniers, Third: Andie Kurijata, Second: Ryan Miller, Lead: Denise Tondell (Melfort Curling Club)
  6. Gamble – Skip: Christie Gamble, Third: Dustin Kalthoff, Second: Tyler Gamble, Lead: Jenna Enge, Alternate: Dean Clark (Highland Curling Club)
  7. Hartung – Skip: Tyler Hartung, Third: Sara Miller, Second: Mat Ring, Lead: Ashley Williamson (Callie Curling Club)
  8. Team Hartung – Skip: Jeff Hartung, Third: Jade Kerr, Second: Claire Decock, Lead: Jasmine Kerr (Langenburg Curling Club)
  9. Ross – Skip: Brendan Ross, Third: Amber Montgomery, Second: Daniel Mutlow, Lead: TBD (Moose Jaw Curling Centre/Swift Current Curling Club)
  10. Springer – Skip: Garret Springer, Third: Jill Springer, Second: Drew Springer, Lead: Chantel Martin (Highland Curling Club)

The event was a triple knockout format with one A-qualifier, one B-qualifier and 2 C-qualifier’s. in the A event, Team Springer defeated Team Ackerman 6-4. The B-event saw Team Ackerman qualifying by defeating Team deConinck Smith 5-4. In the C event, Team Gamble defeated Team J Hartung 8-6, and Team T Hartung defeated Team deConinck Smith 5-2.

In the playoffs, Team Springer defeated Team Ackerman 9-4 in the 1vs2 game. In the 3vs4, Team T Hartung defeated Team Gamble 7-4. In the semi-final, Team Ackerman defeated Team T Hartung 7-3 securing their spot in the final. The final was a rematch of the A final, and the 1v2 game, and the third time was the charm for Team Ackerman as they defeated Team Springer 8-4.

They will represent Saskatchewan at the 2025 Canadian Mixed Curling Championships later this year. Congratulations to Team Ackerman! ß
