Wheelchair Provincials Recap
On February 14th and 15th, 3 teams hit the ice to playdown in hopes of representing Saskatchewan at the 2025 Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship on April 28 – May 3 2025, in Boucherville, Qué. This is particularly exciting as Saskatchewan has never hosted a Wheelchair Curling Provincial event, but rather just selected a team to represent SK.
Team Andrews: skip Pete Andrews, third Mark Kennedy, second Steve Draude, lead Ashley Baerg. Sutherland Curling Club and CN Curling Club in Saskatoon, SK. Team Brady: skip Michael Brady, third Tara-Lee Hess, lead Zahra Ehsani. Regina, SK. Team Dash: skip Gilbert Dash, third Marie Wright, second Moose Gibson, lead Darwin Bender. Moose Jaw Curling Centre, Moose Jaw, SK.
This event was a round robin with all teams qualifying for playoffs. After the round robin, Team Dash was at the top with a perfect 2-0 record, Team Andrews was in the middle with a record of 1-1, and team Brady was at the bottom at 0-2. In the 2vs3 game Team Brady faced Team Andrews where Team Andrews booked their spot in the final with the 10-4 victory. On Saturdays final, Team Dash secured their undefeated event finish with a 7-4 win.

Due to Saskatchewan’s gold medal at the last Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championships, Saskatchewan has been given another berth for the National Championship. Congratulations to Team Anderws on making the final and being named Team SK2. Congratulations to skip Pete Andrews, third Mark Kennedy, second Steve Draude, lead Ashley Baerg.
