Mixed Doubles Event Recap

The 2025 Mixed Doubles provincials took place at the Martensville Curling Club on February 13 – 16. 22 teams hit the ice in hopes of representing Saskatchewan at the 2025 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship on March 16-21 in Summerside, P.E.I.

Deck/Deck – Ashley Deck & Scott Deck (Highland Curling Club)

Englot/Schneider – Michelle Englot & Derek Schneider (Highland CC)

Fedak/Behm – Amy Fedak & Brett Behm (Strasbourg Curling Club)

Gamble/Kalthoff – Christie Gamble & Dustin Kalthoff (Nutana Curling Club)

Gudereit/Gudereit – Marcia Gudereit & Marcia Gudereit (Highland Curling Club)

Ingram/Tenetuik – Alison Ingram & Cole Tenetuik (Twin Rivers Curling Club)

Meachem/Meachem – Clare Meachem & Shaun Meachem (Swift Current Curling Club)

Silversides/Grindheim – Tesa Silversides & Brayden Grindheim (Martensville Curling Club)

Springer/Springer – Jill Springer & Garret Springer (Highland Curling Club)

Taylor/Gervais – Savanna Taylor & Brecklin Gervais (Kronau Curling Club)

Wills/Wisniewski – Stasia Wisniewski & Sam Wills (Highland Curling Club)

Yachiw-Omelian/Raymond – Samantha Yachiw-Omelian & Jordan Raymond (Sutherland Curling Club)

The event was a triple knockout event with 8 teams qualifying for playoffs. 2 from the A-event, 2 from the B-event and 4 from the C-event. Team Gamble/Kalthoff and Team Lamontagne/Lamontagne went undefeated through the A-event to qualify for playoffs.

Team Kuzyk/Gamble and Team Springer/Springer qualified out of the B-Event, and teams Silversides/Grindheim, Lang/Lang, Englot/Schneider, and Wisniewski/Wills qualified out of the C-event.

In the playoff round. Team Wisniewski/Wills defeated last year’s champions team Gamble Kalthoff 7-5, Team Springer/Springer defeated team Silversides/Grindheim 9-6. Team Lang/Lang defeated Team Kuzyk/Gamble 9-0 and the Lamontagnes defeated Englot/Schneider 5-3.

The semi-finals saw the Springers defeating team Wisniewski/Wills 13-2, and team Lang/Lang booked their spot in the final by defeating the Lamontagnes 6-5.

The final game was a close battle between the Springers and the Langs. Team Lang/Lang got an early start and went up 7-0 after fir the first 2 ends. The Springers made quite the comeback in the 6th end when they scored 5 to make the score 7-9 for the Langs. Team Lang/Lang kept their momentum going, defeating the Springers 10-9.

Congratulations to Matthew Lang, Jessica Lang, and coach Susan Lang.

They will represent Saskatchewan at the 2025 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship on March 16-21 in Summerside, P.E.I.
