Fedoseev withdraws from second consecutive top tournament

Vladimir Fedoseev won Biel Chess 2025 and went on to play the Esports World Chess Cup. There he qualified from the group stage, but (without further information given) has withdrawn and was substituted by Artemiev in the quarterfinal.

Now Vladimir Fedoseev has withdrawn from a second consecutive tournament. He will not be able to play the Quantbox Chennai Grand Masters 2025 and will be substituted by Karthikeyan Murali.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, GM Vladimir Fedoseev has withdrawn from the 2025 Quantbox Chennai Grand Masters. As the top seed of the Challengers section, GM Karthikeyan Murali will now be replacing him in the tournament.
