Re-Engineering the Chess Classics: Mariotti-Eppinger

0

Re-Engineering the Chess Classics: The Italian Fury! Mariotti-Eppinger Italy 1969 1-0 is the forth video from GM Sadler’s series. To celebrate the publication of his new book (written together with his childhood coach Steve Giddins) GM Sadler is examining a series of classic games – just as he did in the book – using the creative engine analysis techniques described in “The Silicon Road to Chess Improvement”

Italian player Sergio Mariotti, Italy’s first grandmaster whose love of gambits and attacking play earned him the nickname (given by the British Chess Magazine apparently!) of “The Italian Fury”!

The game Mariotti-Eppinger is a bright and breezy Sicilian hack featuring a very interesting anti-Najdorf system with some rather cool engine improvements to boot!
