Foreign visitors to Japan top 3 mln in February

TOKYO, March 19 (Xinhua) -- The number of foreign visitors to Japan in February totaled a record 3,258,100 for the month, up 16.9 percent from a year earlier, government data showed Wednesday.

The figure exceeded 3 million for the first time in February, driven by strong demand for winter sports and the Chinese New Year holiday, the Japan National Tourism Organization said.
