Mets bring back All-Star 1B Pete Alonso on 2-year contract

The New York Mets re-signed All-Star first baseman Pete Alonso on Wednesday to a two-year contract with a player option for 2026.

Terms were not disclosed in the team's announcement, but multiple media reports on Feb. 5 had Alonso agreeing to a two-year, $54 million deal. Alonso, 30, is set to make $30 million this season (including a $10 million signing bonus
