Return of debris balls forces closure of 9 Sydney beaches

SYDNEY, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Nine beaches in Sydney, the capital city of Australia's state of New South Wales (NSW), have been closed following the return of mystery debris balls that forced beach closures late in 2024.

Sydney's Northern Beaches Council on Tuesday closed nine beaches under its jurisdiction after being notified about the balls washing ashore by the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) in NSW.
