Islanders F Mathew Barzal exits road trip with injury

New York Islanders star Mathew Barzal made an early exit from the team's road trip due to an upper-body injury.

The Islanders announced Friday that Barzal returned to Long Island to meet with team physicians, after which a time frame for his recovery will be announced.

Barzal, 27, led all New York forwards with 22:46 of ice time in Wednesday night's 2-0 loss at Columbus.
