Depay on target as Corinthians boost survival hopes

SAO PAULO, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Dutch forward Memphis Depay scored his first goal for Corinthians as the Sao Paulo club romped to a 5-2 home victory over Athletico Paranaense in Brazil's Serie A on Thursday.

Depay curled a 22-yard free kick into the top left corner to help his side ease relegation fears with their seventh win of the season.

Corinthians are now 16th in the 20-team standings with 32 points,
