Pelicans signing C DeAndre Jordan to one-year deal

The New Orleans Pelicans are signing free agent center DeAndre Jordan to a one-year, $3.6 million deal, his agent told ESPN on Friday.

Jordan, 37, is a former All-Star and two-time league rebounding champion who spent the past three seasons with the Denver Nuggets. His career field-goal percentage of 67.4 ranks No. 1 in league history.

Sofia Kenin knocked out No. 3 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-0, 2-6, 7-6 (3) on Friday to advance to the Toray Pan Pacific Open semifinals in Tokyo.
