Aston Villa transfer targets include Real Madrid’s Brazilian teenage phenom: reports

0

Real Madrid striker Endrick is an Aston Villa transfer target as the January window draws closer, according to reports.

Villa have been experiencing significant problems when it comes to creating and scoring goals so far this season and the travails of striker Ollie Watkins are under greater scrutiny than at any previous point in his time at the club.

According to BirminghamLive, a loan move for 19-year-old Endrick is one potential option being discussed internally at Villa, where new president of football operations Roberto Olabe will be working away to help manager Unai Emery strengthen his hand in the new year.

“The Brazilian sensation has found himself frozen out at the Spanish giants,” reports Jeremy Cross.

Is Endrick in Aston Villa transfer plans?

“New boss Xabi Alonso has failed to hand him a single minute of action this season and the situation has alerted a number of clubs, including United, West Ham and Juventus.”

Endrick had in fact played 11 minutes in La Liga prior to the report, all in Real Madrid’s most recent match against Valencia. The teenager came on as a substitute for Kylian Mbappé with the 15-time Champions League winners 3-0 up at the Bernabeu.

Mbappé is just one of the top talents keeping Endrick out of the team under Xabi Alonso, who took over as the team’s head coach in the summer.

Vinícius Júnior, Rodrygo and Brahim Díaz are all above him in the pecking order along with fellow youngsters Gonzalo García and Franco Mastantuono, who have both been used more than Endrick this season. Mastantuono is younger than the Brazilian.

“Villa have expressed an interest in taking Endrick on loan in the January transfer window,” adds Cross.

Endrick is looking for a loan

“Endrick has told his representatives he will have to leave the Bernabeu, unless there is a dramatic change in his situation.

“He is worried his lack of action will cost him a place in the Brazil squad for next summer’s World Cup, despite his former [Real] Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti, now being at the helm of the Seleção.”

Taguatinga-born Endrick agreed a move to the Spanish capital amid a flurry of publicity late in 2022 and finally made the move on a six-year contract in the summer of 2024, when he turned 18.

He played 37 times in all competitions under Ancelotti in 2024/25, scoring a total of seven goals in La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.

The former Palmeiras striker is a senior Brazilian international with 14 caps and three goals to his name, including a winner against England in a friendly at Wembley in March 2024, four months before his transfer to Spain was rubberstamped.

His second international goal was in a 3-3 draw against Spain at his future home, the Bernabeu, three days later.
