Srbazan: Signing the border demarcation regulation goes against our  national interests and international standards

0

ArmInfo. The signing of the delimitation and demarcation commissions' regulations is a step that goes against our national interests and international standards.  Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan (Srbazan), the leader of the Tavush for the Motherland movement, stated thia at a protest rally in front of the presidential residence on August 25, commenting on the ratification of the document by the National Assembly and its signing by the President of Armenia.

According to Srbazan, this regulation does not serve Armenia's interests  and is in violation of the law. He also pointed out that no country in the world defines its borders with such precision as the current Prime Minister of Armenia does, noting that the latter refers to Armenia's territory of 29,743 sq. km. "The border of Armenia, like that of any state, is determined by where its military is stationed," the leader of the movement added.

At the same time, Srbazan emphasized that, despite not being recognized as an international document, the regulations had been reviewed by the Constitutional Court, ratified by the National Assembly and signed by the presidents of the two countries. He explained that the haste in signing the regulations raises suspicions and he considers the events in Kirants and Voskepar to be evidence of state crimes. In this regard, he emphasized that not a single institution in the country operates in accordance with the law or moral standards.

Speaking about the passivity of the movement he leads, Srbazan noted that it is not related to the current geopolitical processes, particularly the elections taking place in Georgia. At the same time, he is confident that the movement has just as many supporters as claimed. "Our supporters are everywhere. As soon as they are needed, they will be here," Srbazan noted.  The leader of the movement also stated that he does not consider the sacred struggle's mission to have failed. According to him, the stage they had to go through, which is the removal of Nikol Pashinyan from power, has not yet occurred. However, this does not mean that it cannot be achieved in the future.
