0

ArmInfo. On October 15, Arman Tatoyan, the head of the Tatoyan Foundation and former Ombudsman of Armenia, met with members of the House of Lords of the British Parliament in London. He presented materials about the crimes committed in Artsakh by the Aliyev regime.

According to the Foundation's press release, Azerbaijan's ongoing state policy of  racism and hostility towards the Armenian people was presented to the judgment of British parliamentarians with factual evidence. They were told about the destruction of the Armenian identity in the region.  Tatoyan also presented factual information about the behavior of Azerbaijani servicemen who invaded the territory of Armenia. He spoke about the gross violations of the rights of border residents and the destruction of the environment.  The issues of forced deportation of Armenians from Artsakh and the issue of their safe and secure return to their historical homeland were also raised.

Many facts were presented about the intentional destruction of cultural and religious heritage of the Artsakh Armenians by Baku.  The issue of the illegal capture of Armenian servicemen and the political leadership of the unrecognized Republic of Artsakh in Azerbaijan was discussed highlighting the absolute need for their return to their homeland.

The need to apply effective measures of accountability to the Azerbaijani authorities for all Azerbaijani crimes was highlighted.  Baroness Caroline Cox, a member of the House of Lords, who has long supported the Artsakh Armenians fight for freedom and self-determination against historical injustice, also took part in the discussions. Other representatives from various non-governmental organizations were also in attendance.
