Nikol Pashinyan: Comments that Armenia agreed to any limitations on  its sovereignty regarding regional communications are blatant  distortion of reality

0

ArmInfo. All claims suggesting that Armenia has allegedly agreed, in some document, that third countries should ensure the security of communications on its territory are simply a distortion of reality. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during an extended meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, when presenting the Armenian government's "Crossroads of Peace" project to the meeting participants.

He als  critisized comments saying that Armenia has agreed to limit its sovereignty in regional communications, calling it a clear distortion of reality. The Prime Minister emphasized that Armenia's commitment within the "Crossroads of the World" project is to ensure the safety of goods, vehicles and people on its territory. He explained that the goal of the project is to create the most favorable conditions for the development of trade and economic ties between all interested states. The project also aims to significantly increase the region's logistics potential while fully respecting the sovereignty and jurisdiction of countries, as well as upholding the principles of equality and reciprocity. "The Republic of Armenia is ready to guarantee the safety of the passage of goods, vehicles and people through its territory," he reiterated. In addition to inefficient   transport and logistics policies, the Prime Minister also mentioned unresolved issues concerning the establishment of a common energy market within the EAEU as obstacles to accelerating economic growth.
