Paris Bar Association members file complaint with ICC prosecutor on behalf of forcibly displaced Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians
ArmInfo. Francois Zimere and Catalina de la Sota, lawyers of the Paris Bar Association, filed a complaint with the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on behalf of victims forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh and refugees in Armenia. This was reported by Le Point.
In their published statement, the lawyers recalled that it has been a year since Azerbaijan's military aggression in Nagorno-Karabakh forced more than 100,000 Armenians to leave their homes. They called the mass deportation of Artsakh Armenians one of the most egregious cases of ethnic cleansing of our time and a crime against humanity.
In addition, Francois Zimere and Catalina de la Sota called on France to act in accordance with its constant statements, applying Article 14 of the Rome Statute.
"The International Criminal Court is far from perfect, its legitimacy still needs to be strengthened, but what other jurisdiction can answer these questions, shed light on the crimes committed and judge those responsible?" - Le Point reports.
