Nubar Afeyan: one of the main objectives is to ensure justice for prisoners, without which there can be no peace

ArmInfo. On September 27, a joint prayer for the safe return of Armenian prisoners from Baku prisons is taking place in the Church of St. Anna in Yerevan.  The event is attended by relatives and friends of the prisoners, including the wife, son, and sister of the former State Minister of Artsakh Ruben Vardanyan.  In an interview with journalists, philanthropist Nubar Afeyan, one of the founders of the Aurora initiative, noted that one of the main objectives at present is to ensure justice for prisoners, without which there can be no peace.  "The most important thing we must do is ensure justice for the prisoners and create a world based on this justice," Afeyan said, hinting that he had discussed this need with the Armenian authorities.

 

Referring to the statements about the former State Minister of Artsakh and philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan, Nubar Afeyan emphasized that he had worked closely with Ruben Vardanyan for 24 years, and false rumors about him are unacceptable. "It is unacceptable to me that someone could insult the great and dedicated Armenian Ruben, who has spent hundreds of millions on charity, by calling him a person allegedly involved in some other programs. He went to Artsakh, concerned about the situation there, and even put his life in danger," Nubar Afeyan emphasized.
