Hungary ready to assist Artsakh Armenians in implementing programmes 

ArmInfo. It is planned that the initiative to send children forcibly displaced from Artsakh to the camp will be of a continuous nature. This was stated during the meeting of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia Narek Mkrtchyan with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto.

In particular, according to the agreement, about 1,000 children forcibly displaced from Artsakh will again have the opportunity to rest in the camp. The Hungarian side confirmed its readiness to ensure the continuity of this initiative, which was first implemented in August. Then about 120 children from Artsakh went to a summer camp in Hungary.

During the meeting, the ministers also discussed other measures to support refugees from Artsakh, including implemented and ongoing programs. In particular, issues of ensuring employment for Artsakh residents, providing services to vulnerable groups, ensuring social justice, etc. were touched upon.

On his Facebook page, Narek Mkrtchyan noted that such initiatives not only give children new experiences and a pleasant pastime, but also contribute to their emotional and psychological recovery.

Recall that on September 19, 2023, Azerbaijan, under the pretext of an "anti-terrorist operation", committed another act of aggression against Artsakh. This was preceded by an almost 10-month blockade of Artsakh.  Since the enemy aggression that began in the fall of 2020, which in September 2023 ended in the complete ethnic cleansing of Artsakh, over 150 thousand Artsakh residents have become homeless.

According to the Office of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Artsakh, as a result of the forced displacement of the Artsakh population, more than 30 thousand children arrived in Armenia, of which more than 21 thousand are school-age children.
