Restoration projects approved for historical and cultural monuments  in Ararat, Shirak, Kotayk and Lori 

ArmInfo. The project for the restoration of the 13th century Makaravank monastery complex in the  village of Achajur, Tavush region, was approved with some reservations by the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science, referring to the results of the 9th meeting of the Council.

In addition, at the meeting, participants discussed several  preliminary designs related to the reconstruction, strengthening and  restoration of historical and cultural monuments located in Ararat,  Shirak, Kotayk and Lori regions.

Among the accepted projects is the transfer of the monument to  Hovhannes Abelyan to the theater square in the city of Vanadzor, Lori  region. The council also unanimously voted for a project for  improving the territory of the Kecharis monastery complex in the  Kotayk region (XI-XIII centuries).

In addition, it was decided to build an educational center on the  site of a dilapidated utility building built during the USSR, located  at 33 Zakaryan Street, Vanadzor. This site borders the territory  belonging to the complex of the Gugarak diocese.
