In Russia, personal income rose to RUB 48 trillion in the first half of the year

Money income of Russians in the first half of 2024 increased to 48.4 trillion rubles, according to the calculations of the Higher School of Economics (HSE) on the basis of Rosstat data, which were reviewed by "Izvestia" on September 24. In the same period of 2023, the figure amounted to Br41.8 trillion.

According to the study, in the first half of the year, the population's income from entrepreneurial activity and property increased, as well as labor remuneration and receipts from social payments.

In addition, as noted by the HSE experts, Russians increased spending on the purchase of goods and services - by 7.5% and 5.8%, respectively. Against this background, retail trade turnover increased by 8.8%, and the volume of paid services to the population - by 3.8%.

Earlier, on September 16, it was reported that this year the average nominal salary in the Russian Federation will increase by 16%. This follows from the results of the September macroeconomic survey of the Central Bank. This increase may become a record since 2008, when it was at 27%, "Izvestia" calculated on the basis of Rosstat data. With the growth of 16%, the average salary will rise to 89 thousand per month by the end of 2024.

On September 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a video link meeting with elected regional leaders that the task of the Russian economy is to become an economy of qualified personnel and high wages, with the necessary modern solutions to strengthen the country's sovereignty.
