Passenger train derails in Volgograd Oblast
The train, carrying 800 individuals, collided with a KamAZ truck in Volgograd Oblast after the truck driver failed to slow down before a railway crossing. The incident resulted in seven overturned cars.
According to the authorities, there were no fatalities. Thirty people, including 12 children, were injured. Rescuers continue to work at the site of the incident.
The train passengers have been transported to temporary accommodation centers. Relatives of the injured can use newly opened hotlines for information about the crash.
The Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case for violating traffic safety and transport operation rules.
