Qatar to spend around USD 200 billion on World Cup projects

The country’s Finance Minister Ali Shareef Al-Emad stated that they spent USD 500 mln per week.

“This figure covers not only stadiums, but huge and costly projects such as roads, a new airport, hospitals and other structures. They say that Qatar’s football tournament is going to be the most expensive ever, but this is not true. We are putting USD 200 bln to build a great infrastructure, and we are doing it not only for the World Cup,” he said.
