Armenia’s retail trade shrinks 2.6% in 2016 as wholesale grows 4.5%
YEREVAN, February 2. /ARKA/. Armenia’s retail trade shrank 2.6% in 2016, compared with the previous year, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.
This is the third consecutive year Armenia records decline in its retail trade. In particular, it fell 0.4% in 2014 and 12.8% in 2015.
According to the statistical report, wholesale trade amounted to AMD 895.1 billion in 2016 showing a 4.5% growth, compared with 2015.
Car trading through specialized trade outlets and payments for technical services totaled AMD 94.8 billion in 2016 showing a 22.5% year-on-year growth.
In total, domestic trade amounted to AMD 2233.5 billion in 2016 (1% growth). ($1 – AMD 485.97). --0----
